Meeting of the Board of Supervisors at their office, 200 E. Bridge St., Elkader, IA

Present:  Larry Gibbs, Wayne Bockenstedt, Randy Keehner

 

The board approved claims for payment.

 

 A public hearing was conducted regarding a minor subdivision plat of Henry Street Subdivision.  Don Mork, owner, was present for the hearing.  There were no objections.  Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to adopt resolution # 3-2008 regarding Henry Street Subdivision approval.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner  

Resolution # 3-2008

 

Accepting the minor subdivision plat of Henry Street Subdivision

 

WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, a plat of real property hereinafter designated as Henry Street Subdivision and described as: a subdivision of part of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter and a part of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 22, Township 92 North, Range 5 West of the fifth principal meridian, Clayton County, Iowa,

WHEREAS, Don Mork as owner of said real property, has executed and acknowledged an instrument consenting to said plat,

 WHEREAS, it appears that said plat complies with all requirements of Chapters 354 and 355 of the Code of Iowa,

WHEREAS, the Clayton County Subdivision Review Committee has recommended approval of said subdivision, affirming that it has complied with all the regulations of Clayton County, Iowa,

 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Clayton County Board of Supervisors that the Board approves as an official subdivision, the plat of real property to be known as Henry Street Subdivision, (approximately 3.34 acres) situated in Clayton County, Iowa, and described as: a subdivision of part of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter and a part of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 22, Township 92 North, Range 5 West of the fifth principal meridian, Clayton County, Iowa,  

Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to approve the amendment to the 28E agreement with Iowa Government Health Care and authorize the Chairman to sign the amendment.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

 Larry Stone and Bob Watson talked to the board regarding animal confinement buildings and the DNR rules and state laws.  They asked for the board to contact their legislators to change the law regarding building on karst topography. They also want the board to call for a moratorium on confinement buildings and ethanol plants until an environmental impact statement can be prepared regarding air pollution by ammonia.  They also asked that a sample ordinance be modified and adopted to regulate agriculture poisons emissions. No action taken by the board at this time.
