Meeting of the Board of Supervisors at their office, 200 E. Bridge St, Elkader, IA Present: Larry Gibbs, Wayne Bockenstedt, Randy Keehner
The board conducted a public hearing on vacating some right-of-way in Communia Heights Subdivision. No objections were heard. Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to approve resolution # 4-2008 regarding the vacation of right-of-way in Communia Heights Subdivision. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
Resolution No.4-2008
WHEREAS, The Clayton County Board of Supervisors desires to vacate roads that are of little use to the public, and
WHEREAS, The Clayton County Board of Supervisors acting under authority of Iowa Code Chapter 306, propose to vacate a section of excess road right of way described as follows:
Lot 11 of Communia Heights Subdivision in Section 18, Township 92 North, Range 4 West of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Clayton County, Iowa containing 3.29 acres, (0.75 acre in public road right of way) more or less, and more particularly described as listed on the Plat of Survey Proprietor(s) Danny and Judy Nielsen.
WHEREAS, No objections have been received, either in writing or by persons present.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Clayton County Board of Supervisors that the section of excess road right of way be vacated. The section of excess road right of way is described as follows:
Lot 11 of Communia Heights Subdivision in Section 18, Township 92 North, Range 4 West of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Clayton County, Iowa containing 3.29 acres, (0.75 acre in public road right of way) more or less, and more particularly described as listed on the Plat of Survey Proprietor(s) Danny and Judy Nielsen.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Clayton County Board of Supervisors that said right of way heretofore described, together with any and all rights of Clayton County in and to the same are hereby abandoned and disposed of and Clayton County disclaims any right, title or interest in and to said right of way or to the use thereof for any purposes whatsoever.
A public hearing was held concerning the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, proposed county budget. There were two people present from the public. The budget was presented by the County Auditor. Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to adopt the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, county budget as proposed and published. Also, to approve the Clayton County Compensation Commission recommendation of the following salary schedule for elected officials: Attorney $50,375; Auditor $44,389; Recorder $44,047; Treasurer $44,047; Sheriff $55,967; Supervisors $25,941; Supervisor Chair $26,191
