Meeting of the Board of Supervisors at their office, 200 E. Bridge St, Elkader, IA.
Present: Larry Gibbs, Wayne Bockenstedt, Randy Keehner

The board approved claims for payment.

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to approve a letter of support for the Steve Shannon Athletic Complex in Guttenberg for financial support of 2.5% of the amount of the CAT grant award. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to appoint to the Planning and Zoning Commission the following people: Marvin Vaske, Carol O’Brien and Allan Troester; to the Board of Health reappoint Dr. Michelle Sadler; to the Pioneer Cemetery Board reappoint Myra Voss; Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to approve a contract for computer software with Tyler Technology for programming and data conversion. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to set the holiday schedule as:

Feb. 18th – Presidents’ Day
March 21st – Good Friday
May 26th – Memorial day
July 4th
Sept. 1st – Labor Day
Nov. 11th – Veterans Day
Nov. 27th & 28th – Thanksgiving
Dec. 24th & 25th – Christmas
Jan. 1st – New Years Day

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to set the mileage reimbursement at $.32 per mile for 2008.  Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

A telephone conference was held with John Danos of Dorsey & Whitney regarding tax increment financing for Willmark Energy’s ethanol plant. Requirements and possibilities to negotiate a development agreement were discussed.

Nancy Yelden, VNA, presented a budget proposal to the board for fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, of $88,000 for deficit funding.
