Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to approve resolution #5-2008 regarding placement of a road embargo on certain roads. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
RESOLUTION #5-2008 90‑DAY EMBARGO‑‑SPECIFIC ROADS
WHEREAS, The Clayton County Board of Supervisors recognizes the severity of the past winter and its effect on certain roads during the period of thawing this spring, and
WHEREAS, Sections 321.236(8), 321.255, 321.471, and 321.473 of the Code of Iowa provide the authority for local authorities to impose restrictions as to the weight of vehicles to be operated on any highway under their jurisdiction and Section 321.463 establishes the penalty for violating said restrictions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa that the following weight restrictions are in effect for the period of 90 days from April 2, 2008, or until rescinded by the removal of signs by the proper authority, if conditions warrant an earlier date: 10‑Ton Limit

The County Engineer is hereby directed to have erected such signs as are necessary to advise the traveling public of these limits, in accordance with Section 321.472.
Mary Klink had some concerns regarding a quit claim deed to Danny & Judy Nielsen for vacated right of way. No action was taken.
A public hearing was held for environmental review of Scenic Acres wastewater treatment facility and the state revolving fund loan (SRF). Vicki Bloxham, Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission, and Lucas from Tekippe Engineering were present. No members of the public were present and no comments were received.
Ross Merritt, Hawkeye Sanitation, was in to talk about the garbage hauling contract. A mistake in the billing has occurred for the past two years. The correction will be made on future billings and will not go back on past billings. The correction regards changes in the contract dated December 28, 2005.
Kris Lau was in to talk about removal of trees and brush in the fence rows of the county’s rental farmland.
