Present: Larry Gibbs, Wayne Bockenstedt, Randy Keehner
The County Treasurer certified deputy salary percentage changes effective April 1, 2008, as follows: Larita Hamlett, Motor Vehicle Deputy, 73%; Maureen Schroeder, Driver License Deputy, 73%; Sandra Ashline, Driver License Deputy, 55%; Cathy White, Motor Vehicle Deputy, 55%.
A public hearing was held on a proposed resolution regarding transfer of a portion of former right of way in Lot 11 of Communia Heights Subdivision to Danny & Judy Nielsen. No members of the public were present and no objections were heard at this hearing. Prior to the hearing Mary Klink had expressed a concern regarding cars overrunning the stop sign on Littleport Road and ending up on the Nielsen’s property.
Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to approve resolution # 6-2008 regarding the transfer of a portion of former right of way in Lot 11 of Communia Heights Subdivision. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
RESOLUTION # 6-2008
WHEREAS, Clayton County, has a property interest to the following described real estate:
The real estate that lies between the former right way line and the current right of way line contained in Lot 11 of Communia Heights Subdivision in Section 18, Township 92 North, Range 4 West of the 5th P.M. as shown on Plat of Survey document #2008R00964 recorded in the Clayton County Recorder’s Office
WHEREAS, the property has been deemed as excess road right of way, and vacated in resolution #4-2008,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 331.361(2) of the CODE OF IOWA, 2007, notice of a public hearing is published in the Clayton County Register on April 9, for a hearing to be held on April 16, 2008,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, that the Board Chairman, Wayne Bockenstedt, and County Auditor, Dennis Freitag, be authorized to execute a Quit Claim Deed to Danny & Judy Nielsen for said real estate.
Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Keehner, to approve renewal of liquor licenses to Elkader Golf & Country Club, Inc. and The Shanti, Inc. Also, to approve renewal of a beer-wine permit to Fast Trak, Inc. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to approve resolution #7-2008 regarding advertising for bids on Project 2008-R-1. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
RESOLUTION # 7-2008
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, that the County Auditor be directed to advertise for bids on the following project: Project 2008-R-1 Approximately 98,915 tons of Class “A” Crushed Stone for various roads in Clayton County. Sealed bids will be received until 11:00 AM May 2, 2008, at the office of the County Auditor of Clayton County in the Courthouse in Elkader, IA.
Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to approve the minutes of March 26, April 2, 9 and 16, 2008. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
