Present: Larry Gibbs, Randy Keehner Absent: Wayne Bockenstedt (attending EMA training)
The board approved claims for payment.
Tim Engelhardt, County Conservation Director and Dale Goodman, Ewalu Camp and Retreat Center, requested the board to hard surface the road to Joy Springs Park and Ewalu Camp and Retreat Center from Highway 3. Ewalu records nearly 25,000 visitor days per year and Joy Springs Park has estimated 2,400 users. Funding for the road is lacking but the project is needed. The board and Dale Goodman will look for additional funding including RISE and Time 21 funding.
The conducted a public hearing on the amendment to Clayton County Ordinance # 1-2003 which extends the school infrastructure local option tax to December 31, 2022. Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to approve the first reading of the amendment to Clayton County Ordinance # 1-2003 which extends the school infrastructure local option tax. Ayes: Gibbs, Keehner
Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to enter into an employment contract with Rafe Koopman as County Engineer for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 with a 2% wage increase. Ayes: Gibbs, Keehner
Motion by Keehner, seconded by Gibbs, to enter into an employment contract with Louis Eberhardt as Roadside Manager for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. Ayes: Gibbs, Keehner
