The board approved claims for payment.

Motion by Bockenstedt, seconded by Keehner, to accept the quote of Miller Floor Covering, Edgewood, of $6,628.58. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
A second public hearing was held on a zoning change from A-1 to C-1 for Don Bries on property described as approximately 2 acres located in Lot 1 in the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 6, T92N, R2W, Jefferson Township, Clayton County, Iowa. Motion by Bockenstedt, seconded by Keehner, to approve the second and final reading of the zoning change with the stipulation that the land be used for the sales and service of homes, along with the associated business office and that if a transfer of ownership occurs the land will automatically revert back to Agriculture (A-1) and the new owner will have to request rezoning if they wish to operate a business on that land. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
Motion by Keehner, seconded by Bockenstedt, to approve a fireworks permit to Ron Miller, McGregor, and Thomas Bading, Volga. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

Motion by Bockenstedt, seconded by Keehner, to sign employment contracts for non-union secondary road department employees. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
Motion by Keehner, seconded by Bockenstedt, to approve resolution # 23-2007 regarding closing a portion of 228th Street for construction work. Ayes: Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner
Resolution # 23-2007
WHEREAS, Clayton County will be closing 228th Street for construction work from Great River Road easterly into Clayton, Iowa, and needs to designate an official detour to maintain access to the residents living in Clayton, Iowa,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Clayton County Board of Supervisors to establish the private road off Great River Road leading to Pattison Brothers Grain Terminal at 703 First St, Clayton, Iowa, as the official detour for access to Clayton during construction on 228th Street. This official detour will start on July 9, 2007, and last approximately four weeks or until completion of the construction on 228th Street. The posted speed limit on the private road is 30 mph and will be enforced.
