Meeting of the Board of Supervisors at their office, 200 E. Bridge St., Elkader, IA.

Present:  Larry Gibbs, Wayne Bockenstedt, Randy Keehner

 

Motion by Keehner, seconded by Bockenstedt, to amend the January 29, 2007 with resolution # 4A regarding authorizing operating and temporary transfers.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

Resolution # 4A-2007

WHEREAS, the county budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, contains operating transfers from one operating fund to another fund,

WHEREAS, those operating transfers need to be executed throughout the fiscal year as budgeted and the need appears,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Clayton County Board of Supervisors that the County Auditor be directed to execute the operating transfers as budgeted for fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, and any temporary transfers needed to cover fund balance deficits for the short term,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Clayton County Board of Supervisors that the County Auditor be directed to execute the operating transfers as budgeted in the County Assessor’s budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2007.

 

Motion by Bockenstedt, seconded by Keehner, to approve resolution # 6-2007 regarding advertising for bids on Project L-706 Granite Ave.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, that the County Auditor be directed to advertise for bids on the following project:

            Bids will be received until 11:00 A.M.  April 4, 2007 at the office of the Clayton County Auditor in the Courthouse in Elkader, Iowa.

 

Motion by Keehner, seconded by Bockenstedt, to approve resolution # 7-2007 regarding repeal of the residency requirement in Iowa Code Section 692A.2A.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bockenstedt, Keehner

 

Resolution # 7-2007

A resolution urging repeal of the residency requirement in Iowa Code Section 692A.2A

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Clayton, Iowa, has considered the issues of ineffectiveness and expenditure of law enforcement resources related to sex offender residency restrictions, and

WHEREAS, the Iowa County Attorney Association, the Iowa Sheriffs and Deputies Association, the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Abuse, the Prevent Child Abuse Iowa organization, the Iowa State Association of Counties, and not less than eleven other professional Iowa groups and associations support repeal, and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Clayton desires to express its support for the repeal of Iowa Code Section 692A.2A.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Clayton, Iowa:  Section 1.  That the Legislature of Iowa and the Governor of Iowa should repeal Iowa Code Section 692A.2A.
