Richard Zahasky, labor negotiator, discussed the grievance regarding the change in health insurance coverage with the board.

Dennis Errthum requested a leave of absence effective from August 16th at 4:30 PM from employment for 6 months or a year until he could return to his duties.  He is talented at the work that he does with eight years of experience and would take time to train a replacement with additional cost , his OWI was his first offense and on his own time with his own vehicle, and he has the support of his fellow workers to fill in his duties.  Motion by Bockenstedt, seconded by Keehner, to grant an unpaid leave of absence with no fringe benefits for the period of six months subject to extension by the board.  Compensatory time will be paid out but the rest of the benefits are frozen.
