Motion by Meyer, seconded by Walke, to approve resolution # 29-2006 regarding a change in rate of the hotel/motel tax public measure. Ayes: Walke, Meyer, Gibbs
Resolution #29-2006
Whereas, Clayton County has a hotel and motel tax currently at the rate of 5%,
Whereas, there is a need to increase the rate to 7%,
Therefore be it resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, that the Commissioner of Elections be directed to put the following question before the voters of the rural area of Clayton County in the 2006 General Election:
Shall be following public measure be adopted?
Shall the County of Clayton be authorized to increase the hotel and motel tax in the rural areas of Clayton County from five percent (5%) to seven percent (7%) to be effective April 1, 2007, which the revenues shall be used by the County of Clayton as provided in Chapter 423A of the Code of Iowa?
Motion by Meyer, seconded by Walke, to approve the renewal of the liquor license of Tri-City Golf Club, Inc. Ayes: Walke, Meyer, Gibbs
Motion by Meyer, seconded by Walke, to approve the minutes of August 21, 23, 28 and 30, 2006. Ayes: Walke, Meyer, Gibbs
