Present: Robert Walke, Neil Meyer, Larry Gibbs
Motion by Meyer, seconded by Walke, to approve a fireworks permit to Bernard & Vanessa Kennedy, Guttenberg, on September 2, 2006. Ayes: Walke, Meyer, Gibbs
Motion by Walke, seconded by Meyer, to approve a resolution regarding support for City of Guttenberg’s nomination for Iowa’s Great Places designation. Ayes: Walke, Meyer, Gibbs
Resolution # 28-2006
Whereas Iowa Great Places has been created to assist places in creative development.
Whereas the Department of Cultural Affairs with assistance from state agencies and the Iowa Great Places Board will be selecting up to six new Great Places in 2006.
Now Therefore be it Resolved by the Clayton County Board of Supervisors that the board:
Section 1. Fully endorses the submission of this application and agrees to participate in the development and support Guttenberg’s application as Iowa’s Great Place.
Section 2. Endorses the goals in the vision of Guttenberg as a Great Place Community.
George Leonard and Carolyn Corbin were present to propose a tax increment financing district for Emerald Valley Estates. No action was taken at this time.
There will be more negotiation.
