Meeting of the Board of Supervisors at their office, 200 E. Bridge St., Elkader, Iowa.

Present:  Robert Walke, Neil Meyer, Larry Gibbs

 

Motion by Walke, seconded by Gibbs, to approve a fireworks permit to James P. Nelson,  Littleport Fire Dept. and Carlyn Johanningmeier and to authorize the County Auditor to approve completed and appropriate applications that arrive before July 5.  Ayes:  Walke, Meyer, Gibbs

 

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Walke to approve resolution # 20-2005 regarding fiscal year ending June 30, 2006 appropriations to departments.  Ayes:  Walke, Meyer, Gibbs

 

RESOLUTION #20-2005

WHEREAS, July 1, 2005, begins a new fiscal year and it is necessary to make appropriations to the various departments for the legal expenditure of funds,

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, that the following appropriations are made to the respective department for fiscal year ending June 30, 2006 as adopted in the budget and as presented in the following table:

Motion by Walke, seconded by Gibbs, to approve resolution #21-2005 regarding fiscal year ending June 30, 2006 operating transfers and temporary transfers.  Ayes:  Walke, Meyer, Gibbs

 

RESOLUTION # 21-2005

WHEREAS, July 1, 2005, begins a new fiscal year and new budget,

 

WHEREAS, because of legal restrictions in regard to budgeting and the use of levies it becomes necessary to make operating transfers between funds,

 

WHEREAS, the County Auditor monitors the need for these transfers,

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, that Dennis Freitag, County Auditor, is authorized to make operating transfers as prescribed by and in accordance with the adopted budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2005, as the need arises for such transfers throughout the year.  Those budgeted amounts are:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Auditor is authorized to transfer not exceeding the following amounts in accordance with the County Assessor's Budget:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Auditor is authorized to make temporary Fund transfers (to be repaid within the same fiscal year) to prevent individual fund balances being negative and notify the Board of the transfer at their next meeting.

 

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Walke, to approve a claim to make a payment on the mental health funding note.  Ayes:  Walke, Meyer, Gibbs

 

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Meyer, to approve the minutes of June 27 and 29.  Ayes:

Meyer, Gibbs  Absent: Walke
