Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Walke to approve resolution # 4-2005.

Resolution # 4-2005
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Clayton County, Iowa, that the County Auditor be directed to advertise for bids on the following project:
L-1627(1) Grading located on Garber Road in Section 20, T92N, R3W, Clayton County, Iowa.
.2 Acre Clearing & Grubbing; 1358.0 Cubic Yards Excavation Class 10 Roadway & Borrow; 637 Cubic Yards Topsoil, Strip, Salvage and Spread; 1 Intake, Standpipe 6” as per plan; 78 linear feet subdrain, plastic pipe 6”; 1 subdrain outlet, RF-19E; lump sum traffic control; lump sum mobilization; .4 acre seeding, fertilizing and mulching; 300 linear feet silt fence.
Bids will be received until 11:00 A.M., March 9, 2005, at the office of the County Auditor of Clayton County at the office in the Courthouse in Elkader, Iowa.
Motion by Walke, seconded by Gibbs to approve a (HMGP) grant agreement #1518-0001 for the property in the rural area of Clayton included in the flood buyout program for acquisition/demolition.

Quotes were received for a Caterpillar and John Deere for two motor graders with tradein as follows per unit:
Ziegler, Inc. (140H Caterpillar) $250,360 outright; $112, 600 with trade in
Martin Equipment of IA-IL, Inc. (2005 John Deere Model 770D) $195,000 outright; $113,400 with trade in
Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Walke, to purchase one John Deere motor grader at $113,400 with a trade in and one Caterpillar motor grader at $112,600 with a trade in plus any additional available discounts.

Quotes were received for truck as follows:
Don’s Truck Sales $78,400
and a quote from Truck Country that did not meet the specifications
Motion by Walke, seconded by Gibbs, to purchase a 2006 Sterling LT-9513 from Don’s Truck Sales for $78,400 with no trade in.

Quote for a truck box as follows:
Don’s Truck Sales $24,980
Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Walke to purchase the truck box from Don’s Truck Sales at $24,980 for the 2006 Sterling LT-9513 truck.
