ORDINANCE
Snow Removal & Parking On Clayton County Courthouse Parking Lot
Parking Lot. Clayton County, Iowa, owns and maintains a parking lot located adjacent to the west side of the Courthouse and south of High Street NE in the City of Elkader, Clayton County, Iowa.
Parking and Snow Removal. No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on the above-described parking lot during the hours of 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM from November 1st to April 1st of each year.
Sign Required. The custodian of the Clayton County Courthouse is hereby instructed to erect or cause to be erected an appropriate sign giving notice of the above Ordinance and stating the times during which the parking lot must be vacated.
- Enforcement. There shall be no enforcement of this Ordinance until such time as the above-required sign or signs are erected. When the signs are so erected giving notice of this Ordinance, no person shall disobey the restrictions stated on said sign or signs.
Penalty. Any person parking, abandoning, or leaving unattended any vehicle on said Courthouse parking lot during the prohibited times and days set forth above shall be subject to a fine of $5.00 and shall be subject to having the vehicle towed from the parking lot area at their expense.
Fines. The money collected from fines resulting from enforcement of this ordinance is to be deposited in the General Basic Fund of Clayton County, Iowa.
